Amelia made it to her first birthday! With only a few minor bumps and bruises. She is getting to be a pretty goofy, defiant, sweet, silly, monkey. Walking (wanting to RUN to chase her sister!), clapping, dancing, nodding and shaking her head, climbing and jumping off the arm of the couch, spilling daddy's coffee and constantly being the cutest little nuisance I've ever met (besides her dad). She is definitely the "destroyer"...opposite her organized big sis...Charlotte will personify inanimate objects like Lego, calling them momma and daddy and sissy, while Amelia is next to her chucking all the Lego across the room. She LOVES Blue's Clues and Peppa Pig. Here's to another wonderful year Amelia! You are loved beyond your ability to comprehend.
Charlotte was lying down watching a movie and when Amelia noticed she ran over to sit next to her. Then things got even cuter when they were holding hands but, of course were done by the time I grabbed my camera. Amelia found a new favorite thing to do: Climbing onto the trash can to look out the window/kiss her cute little baby face reflection. What a little stinker. At least she is cute when she does it. Amelia has been testing her climbing skills lately. We made the mistake of putting the vacuum cleaner next to our storage space/stairs up to the loft and she figured out how to bolt up there very quickly! I was waiting for what seemed like forever for her to climb up so I could get a good video. They never do things when you want them to! So this is the "lazy" version. We have downsized her climbing arena to a stool next to the couch. Which opens things up for her favorite game: try to get into the trash. She will head over to the trash can and when you catch her when she is near it, she will scurry away acting like she wasn't doing anything. The little turd! Speaking of favorite games and vacuums! She loves chasing and being chased by this thing. And screaming and banging on it too! ;) Charlotte was kind of freaked out by vacuums until little sis showed her she has nothing to worry about. Now she runs around in a similar manner when it is out. It is very cute when they play and learn together! (Where do think Amelia learned how to climb??)
She isn't even 11 months yet and is fitting into 12 month size clothes! Such the opposite of Charlotte. It's fun watching them grow up. It makes me think that Amelia is older because the clothes she is fitting in now, Charlotte fit in to not that long ago because she was/is so small! Amelia has sprouted her 7th tooth. And judging upon her attitude lately she is working on her 8th. She is saying Mama and Dada a lot and mostly to the right person. I will say "Go get Dada" and she will look for him and usually run off toward him. If you can't tell from the pictures about, Dada got a new guitar and she loves it. Looks like we have a little musician on our hands! Super Fantastic feat of the week: Turn around to get down. Yay! Amelia started walking shortly before the 10 month mark! She is enjoying her new found mobility very much. She loves the ease of chasing Charlotte around and is so brave as she explores this big world!
No where is safe, she has found a new hideout in the TV stand shelf! Sometimes Charlotte will join her, and it is adorable when they sit up there and laugh together. In the picture I added to the post Amelia is playing with a toy snake we found at the Euro Shop! It's made of wood, cut into pieces, and glued back together which makes its movements very life-like. Now she is to be known as the "Snake Baby Wrangler"... or is it "Baby Snake Wrangler"? She mainly just likes to gnaw on it a bit. She seems to be teething (again, still, forever...) so it must feel nice on her gums. AND it's cute either way. I doubt there is a cuter Snake Wrangler! :) |
